On July 21, Liu Yungeng, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Shanghai People’s Congress, met with Yahya Bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri，Chairman of the State Council of the Sultanate of Oman，and his party in Hengshan Hotel.

Liu Yungeng said that the World Expo is the superexcellent platform for the countries presenting their multi-cultures and modern development concepts and exchanging experiences in development. Since the opening of the World Expo Shanghai, the visitors have accumulatively surpassed 30 million with the daily attendance of 557,000 reaching a peak. Liu Yungeng expressed thanks to Oman for its support for and active participation in the World Expo Shanghai. He said that the Oman Pavilion is very beautiful and its workers are friendly and of fine breeding, well received by the visitors. This is a pavilion integrating Arabian features with modern styles and embodying the development principle of living in harmony with nature through exhibiting a city inside deserts, a city in the mountain area and a port city. He wished the activities of Oman Pavilion Day complete success. Liu Yungeng also expressed that the visit of the delegation will promote the cooperation and exchange between China and Oman and the bilateral relations will be closer.

Manthri extended greetings for the successful holding of the World Expo Shanghai. He said that Oman and China have always maintained friendly exchanges and hoped that both sides will continue to strengthen cooperation.
