Karachi is located on the coast of the Arabian Sea. With a
population of 16 million and an area of 3,530 square kilometers, it is the
capital of Sindh Province as well as the largest city and the economic, trade
and financial center of Pakistan. The premium location makes it one of the major
international aviation hubs and seaports, and the gateway between Asia, Africa
and Europe.
Since Karachi and Shanghai established the sister-city
relationship on 15 February 1984, the two sides have carried out frequent
exchange of visits of high-ranking officials and exchange programs in urban
planning. |
