On the occasion of the 100-day countdown of Shanghai Expo, the U.S. Committee of 100 officially launched the website of the“Wall of the Chinese in America”for Expo 2010 Shanghai China.

As a strategic cooperative partner of the U.S. Pavilion, the Committee of 100 called on Chinese descents across America to submit their photos to create the“Wall of the Chinese in America”, featuring the concept of“We Are Family”. It is reported that the project is also one of the important measures for the U.S. Pavilion to raise funds. Moreover, the“Wall of the Chinese in America”will be used in museums and other public events.

The“Wall of the Chinese in America”, which will be on display in the U.S. Pavilion, is a digital wall comprising a hundred of digital monitors which can show tens of thousands of digital photos of Americans of Chinese origin at the same time. Pictures will be shifted continuously according to the Chinese family names. In the center of the wall are huge characters of surnames including“Zhang”,“Chen”, and“Wang”for distinguishing. The“We Are Family”exhibition will recognize the Chinese descents in the U.S. making important contributions to areas including science and technology, environment protection, art, sports, commerce, social service, and government, demonstrating how the cradle of the free U.S. society has created such outstanding people.
