The World Expo serial activities of the Queensland Week are under way like a raging fire. With special activities unfolded in succession, Shanghai and Queensland have reached cooperation agreements and exchange intentions in the fields such as education, scientific research, film, medical and health care, energy saving and emission reduction and tourism, reaping rich fruits.

At the Reception for the Asia Pacific Screen Awards on the evening of June 19, the Australian chairman announced that a movie development fund project worth US$ 100,000 would be set up with the aim of supporting movie workers in the Asia-Pacific region including China in movie creation and shooting. The relevant person in charge of Shanghai International Film Festival attending the reception expressed that Shanghai International Film Festival and the Asia Pacific Screen Awards will establish a regular exchange mechanism, that is, when the Asia Pacific Screen Awards is held in the first half of the year and Shanghai International Film Festival is held in the second half of the year, both sides will exchange professional delegations. The Asia Pacific Screen Awards is sponsored and aided financially by the Queensland government and has been held for four times.

On June 20-21, relevant institutions and enterprises in the two places signed many cooperation agreements and exchange memorandums, including the exchange memorandum between Shanghai Municipal Patriotic Health Committee and Griffith University on cooperation in building a WTO healthy city, the cooperation agreements between the Second Military Medical University and the University Of Queensland, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Queensland University of Technology, Institut Pasteur of Shanghai and Griffith University in the fields of teacher-student exchange, cranial nerves, gene scientific research and biomedicine and the strategic cooperation framework agreement between Xuhui District Business Committee, Pudong International Airport Cargo Terminal Co., Ltd., Shanghai Depai Technology Co. and Queensland Total Energy Solutions Inc. in the field of energy saving and emission reduction.

On the evening of June 25, Tourism Queensland will hold the Tourism Promotion Event with the theme of fantastic Queensland in the Australia Pavilion, at which a programme of mutual visits of representatives of Shanghai and Queensland families will be launched. Shanghai and Queensland winning families will be decided through interesting online competition. The Queensland winning family will come to visit the World Expo Shanghai in August and witness the birth of the Shanghai winning family in the Australia Pavilion. The Shanghai winning family will go to Brisbane, Gold Coast and other Queensland tourist resorts for sightseeing in the early October of this year through the arrangements of Tourism Queensland.
