The Yangshan Bonded Port Area has gradually become a place where the allocating and distribution centers of transnational corporations are concentrated. After comprehensive consideration, the US Chrysler (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. has decided to set up the Chrysler Automobile Parts Allocating Center in the Yangshan Bonded Port Area. This is one of 24 projects settling down in the Yangshan Bonded Port Area through officially signing agreements on July 20.

The location and shipping line advantages of the Yangshan Bonded Port Area are attracting more and more transnational corporations to choose here as an important node linking Asia-Pacific, European and American regions in their global logistics network. The trends of concentration of electronics, information, automobile and its parts industries are extremely obvious. French Alcatel-Lucent has chosen Yangshan as one of the three large nodes in its global logistics network, which will be operated by the Kuehne & Nagel Limited, a third party logistics provider, and will be gradually built into the Asia-Pacific Integrated Logistics Operation Center. Besides, the electronic industrial projects such as Sweden’s Erisson and Japan’s Pioneer have converged in the Yangshan Bonded Port Area.

Since the beginning of this year, the economic scale of the Yangshan Port has been enhanced and its port functions have been strengthened. In the first half of the year, the Yangshan Bonded Port Area fulfilled the export and import volume of US$ 1.77 billion, up 200% over the same period last year, and the throughput of 4.701 million TEUs, up 30.6% over the same period last year. Between January and June, the Yangshan Bonded Port Area attracted the contracted foreign investment of US$ 17.6 million and the registered capital of domestic-invested enterprises of 1.852 billion yuan.
